How do you clean water lines in old aquariums?

I can't remove the water lines on this old aquarium that I got from a friend. I tried soap, vinegar, hydrochloric acid, nothing works!

Use the green scrubby side of a sponge…

    Try using CLR calcium/lime/rust remover.It's available at most stores in the household cleaning
    area.Cost about $8.00 for 28oz bottle.

    use it for old calcium buildup on shower heads and plumbing,brick water stains etc.
