How to drill a fish tank
Posted on Sep 10, 2008 under fish tank |
I tought I would make a video of me drilling 2 x 1 3/4″ holes on my main tank since there wasn’t many videos when I was trying to learn how to do it.
Drilling a hole would have cost me $25 a hole at the local fish store with no guarentee of not breaking the tank.
$15 for a bit that will last 5+ holes (I don’t know exactly how many it will last for) is my way to do things.

Every company is …
Every company is different!!!
If you are drilling an expensive tank I would make sure by contacting the company. If you know the type of tank, the local marine store might have a list of what tanks have what type of glass. It is easy to do. I practised on my 20g which is now my fuge

Good video. But, if …
Good video. But, if I may suggest something. Instead of a constant water flow to keep the heat and dust down from the drilling you could have made a pool of water around the holes with plummers puddy and saved a mess to clean up. But still it was a fine job.
