which salt water fish is easy to take are of?
Posted on Sep 10, 2008 under salt water fish |I wanna get a salt water aquarium for the first time i want an easy fish to take care of and easy to breed and something that doesnt cost to much any suggestions? thanks
Check out the link below for a few ideas. Most Clownfish are pretty hardy, as well as Damsels, but Damsels are very aggressive, so I wouldn't recommend them unless you are planning an aggressive tank. Gobies are also a hardy species, but the fish I would recommend the most is the Chromis. They are hardy, inexpensive, peaceful, and have great personalities.

Salt water fish by nature are harder to take care(due to keeping the correct salt/water combo as well as other factors) of and are more expensive. If your are just looking for a starter fish freshwater wise goldfish are near invincible. As far as saltwater, I would start with something cheap.

i would start out with damsels they are chep and pretty hard to kill salt is a really touchy thing to mess with but keep trying start up ur tank and let it run for a week before i would add anything then i would only add like 2 - 4 of them to start with deppending on what size tank you have and try with them for several weeks before trying anything else and to get your tank started and your bios going

It really depends on what size tank you intend to work with.
Damsels and chromis are easy to care for and are usually very hardy. This is why they are typically used for cycling marine tanks (though I don't recommend using them this way).
Ocellaris clownfish are usually easy to care for and their group dynamics can be rather entertaining.
Cardinals can be easy to care for, too. I think the Banggai cardinals are beautiful and I'm told they're easy to breed.
Whatever you choose to be your starter fish, make sure you research it BEFORE you buy it. Mistakes are much more costly in saltwater tanks than in freshwater.
