Well, I tried my best trying to make this freshwater tank look more like a salt water tank, on a college budget. I’ll probably add a few more colorful fish to finish it up. hope all of you like it! If you have any questions, just ask!
Update: The cichlids are now a lot bigger. Unfortunately, I don’t have the money right now to get a bigger tank. Fortunately, I was able to donate them to a friend! They are now swimming around happily in a 75 gallon tank! Thats awsome! The brown knife fish is still in the tank and is now housed with some gourami’s and cat fish.

My 45 gallon aquarium is about 8 years old. There are 3 fantails, 1 red cap oranda, 1 shubunkin, 1 golden algae eater and 1 cory catfish. The catfish is as old as the tank, which amazes me, since they seem to do better in warmer water! When the fish get too large for the tank, I transfer them to my 1900 gallon pond where they have plenty of room and much more fun, I’m sure
I have an algae problem in the tank periodically, so any suggestions would be welcomed. I do monthly water changes and the PH is neutral. Thanks!
